There are many different types of bait to use when fishing. Depending on the weather and the type of water you are fishing in decides on the type of bait you should use. If you’re trying to catch catfish you could try using live bait and you could try using different types of worms. You could also use different insects to catch fish like, including grasshoppers, crickets or even flies. You can purchase your live bait or gather them yourself. You can also use prepared bait. Prepared bait can include things like corn kernels, baked potato pieces or even cereal balls to name a few.
Then you have artificial bait that you could try when fishing. Artificial bait would include things that are man-made. Artificial bait would include, but is not limited to, plastic worms or insects and spinners. Depending on the fish, you could use frogs, crayfish, insect larvae and even hot dogs. If the bait is too big to fit in the fish’s mouth, you could always cut the bait down to the perfect size.
More bait options include shrimp, which is perfect for bigger sized fish. You could also use clams as bait. Any bait will work when you're fishing, as long as the fish is able to fit it in their mouths. Chicken heads and even the organs of a chicken can be used to catch fish. You can find bait just about anywhere, outside or inside. Bait comes in all shapes and forms for all the different types of fish there is out there.
